Ultimatum
I am given the ultimatum
with no room for compromise
The moment is tense as she makes her threat
all in the name of co-dependence
like a drug or favorite pastime
repeated ad infinitum
proving what I should have figured
A hard lesson has been learned
and new chapters are added continually
There are no loopholes or exceptions
The energy remains consistent
tempting me to overcome nervousness
so I can allow for ecstatic bliss
whether I am ready or not
